Sinarades Philharmonic to Honor the Exodus of Messolonghi at 199th Anniversary Commemoration

Ôhe Sinarades Philharmonic Orchestra is honored to announce its participation in the commemorative events marking the 199th anniversary of the Exodus of Messolonghi, following a gracious invitation from the Municipality of Messolonghi.

Our presence in Messolonghi carries special significance, as it pays tribute to one of the most poignant moments in the Greek War of Independence: the Exodus of the besieged, which took place during the night of April 10 to 11, 1826, when soldiers and civilians made a desperate and heroic attempt to break through the enemy lines after a prolonged and harrowing siege.

The Board of Directors extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Municipality of Messolonghi for this invitation and for the great honor bestowed upon the Association, recognizing its contribution to music and culture.

As a result, the Philharmonic Orchestra will not take part in this year's Palm Sunday Litany in Corfu. However, it will participate as usual in the other Holy Week and Easter events.
